God told Abraham "Lech lecha" — usually translated "go forth," but literally "go to yourself." The journey outward is the journey inward.
Explanation
Lech lecha contains both motion and arrival. Abraham left his land, his birthplace, and his father's house — and at the same time was returning home to who he truly was.
